Attachment necessary when using Practioner PIN?

In the ProSeries efile instructions for attaching a pdf file to a return, there is a statement that if you're participating in the IRS Practitioner PIN program, you don't need to attach any PDF files to the efiled return.  Does anyone have a citation for this?

That doesn't really make sense, so I suspect that either you are misreading what it says or those instructions are wrong.

Can you post EXACTLY what that message say about not needing to attach PDFs?  And where exactly do you see that.

In ProSeries Professional 2021,

Go to: efile/Attach PDF Files/

In the window, see Note:

Click on "Tell Me More"

See text of "See more information about IRS requirements for attachments".

That is interesting.

My only GUESS is that a long time ago, some sort of signature PDF was required for non-Pracitioner PIN, and that is an old message in regards to that.  I suspect quite a bit of the "help" information is outdated or wrong.

At any rate, using the Practiioner PIN method does not mean we can avoid including required information on the e-file submission.
