When there are many pages of transactions on a 1099-B, do you have to list all of them individually?

Scan all the pages and attach as a PDF file. Use M code on the Sch D worksheet. In description say "see attached"

I stopped scanning and attaching about seven years ago.. been reporting totals only, by category..never got one peep about it from the IRS

If you would read the Schedule D/8949 instructions, you would earn that the detail for covered transactions does not need to be entered or attached.

Readding is Fundamental.

Thank you.  You do this even though the basis is already reported to the IRS per their 1099-B?

A long, long time ago, when I could remember,

I used to enter each page separately. Then I started attaching PDFs. Now I just enter total ST-A, LT-D, etc.
