1040 NR

I have a canadian customer with casino winnings. I will do the ITIN for her and also wanted me to file the 1040NR, but I dont have the 1040NR form on my proseries. Is there a way to buy the form as needed? any further explanation will be greatly appreciated.

As a user of ProSeries Basic, you can download Professional and use it on a Pay-Per-Return basis.

Thanks for the response. I called customer service and their answers were confusing. So if I already have the proseries basic 50, do I have to pay to access the professional? and then pay per return as needed?

You can access Professional for free.  You can even prepare it for free (but not print or e-file)

But in order to print or e-file a return, you would need to pay the PPR fee.

Thank you so much for all the helpful info. Can then I have the 2 softwares and no conflict at all? use one for the 50 I already have, and the professional as needed? .. they over the phone told me I would have to upgrade and then will send me a refund, for my basic 50 (I already paid) and then will only have the professional... it was very confusing what they said.

Yes, you can have both on your computer at the same time with no problem.  I think many (or most) Basic users do that, including me.  You can even have them both open at the same time because they are two completely different programs.

The navigation is different between them, but once you find the form or worksheet, the data-entry is identical between them.
