Is there a report that provides current year proforma depreciation using the most recent data file that lists only remaining assets after dispositions? I have used Depreciation Schedule reports selecting a future year but asset and accumulated totals include dispositions (but depreciation expense does not calculate) and the disposition flag of "Y" changes to "N". These incorrect totals and flag errors only serve to confuse a user that may not understand the inadequacy of the report.
I have tried closing the year and starting a new file labeled just for proforma. Is this the best approach to get a report that is accurate to totals at beginning of year?
And then there is the need to maintain prior year files, prior year files rolled forward for proforma, adding current additions and deletions to that file, and finally using this updated proforma file to operate under the newly released program for the following program year. Does anyone have a folder/file naming protocol to share that works for them and this purpose?
