my forms bar is not working

when i open my forms bar non of my forms like w2, 1040, anything is coming up

The bar on the left side of the screen? My returns have been opening with the tabs all crowded up at the top, I have to click on that top tab Forms In Use to open it.

@Just-Lisa-Now- I'm interested in how you would prefer the formsbar to behave when opened.
