Perhaps the software needs to allow the payment of a balance due to Massachusetts to be allowed up until May 17th rather than giving me a red, fatal error for going past April 15th.
(BOSTON, MA) — The Baker-Polito Administration today announced the extension of the 2020 state individual income tax filing and payment due date from April 15 to match the recently-updated May 17 deadline for filing federal individual income taxes.
Massachusetts taxpayers do not need to file any forms or contact the Department of Revenue directly to qualify for this automatic state tax extension. All Massachusetts taxpayers who received more than $8,000 in total gross income in calendar year 2020 must file a state personal income tax return electronically or send it postmarked by midnight May 17, 2021.

Try updating your software. I just did one and it was fine.
Yes, you may enter a date after 4/15/2021, and then
red error (you must fix this error) message that needs to be ignored by efiling and not error checking the electronic return filing.
But, thanks.
Massachusetts due dates in ProSeries Professional have still NOT been updated to reflect the new due dates.
You get the red error messages when you put in a date after 4/15/21.
Please fix this ProSeries!
Thank you for updating the software.
