Just began getting this message about an hour ago -- happens every time I use the tax summary - I retry and it goes through but is getting annoying -- anyone have a solution?
Does rebooting your computer help at all? If not, you could try running the repair updates feature.
I did try rebooting - i'll try the repair update
did the repair and still no change
Odd as it worked fine this morning - the only time it happens is when I pull up the summary tax and try to close it - everything else seems fine
Try clearing your computer's cache. If that doesn't work you can either try calling support or try re-installng the program.
I've been getting this all day today, on many difference screens. Tried the reboot. Cleared all cache. Went into Task Manager to see if any programs were eating up memory. Redid all updates. Has not happened all season so far until today.
I was trying to use the "What If" feature yesterday and it kept telling me that filing status was not entered. It was. Eventually it did computations anyway but I had to close the warning box several times.
So I uninstalled and reinstalled and now all my data is gone -- how do I get my files back?
Homebase > Homebase Maintenance should pull them all back into HB.
This has also been happening to me on every screen! I shut down the program and rebooted and it is still happening!!!
Just another Monday
I called support. What a waste of time. I am still on Windows 10 and they are saying that is probably the problem. Are you on 10 or 11?
Are you on Windows 10 or 11. Support says it might be a Windows 10 problem because they are not supporting Windows 10 any more. I am getting it on Win10
I am currently on Windows 11, and it is happening!!! So, that is not it
I am also on Windows 11.
I just received a notification that there are updates!!! They must have fixed this! We'll see
You're a life saver -- thanks -- all back
Still getting the same dumb message - but it works and my info is back
Not messing with it any more
Everyone on Windows 11 needs to call support and complain. Since they are using the Windows 10 excuse they will not look any further until Win11 users complain. That is what the tech I talked to said.
This message happens when you've got multiple Intuit Products open (I think the automatic background updates have something to do with this), or you've got an anti-virus or cloud backup that's scanning your Intuit files, I think it may also happen if your internet connection is unstable.
Ive blocked Proseries files out of my anti virus, and only let my cloud backup run after hours, I do have a crappy internet connection, so it does still happen to me now and then, but it was really bad when my cloud backup was running, scanning PS data files.
I am running Win 11, but it used to happen back when I had Win 10 too.
where do I find Repair Updates?
You are not alone in experiencing this error and slow processing. The product worked fine in years past but clearly the programs in 2025 screwed things up. This is causing delays in getting returns completed quickly and I suspect Intuit - Proseries will be slow to fix it.
I also had the same problem when I ran the 1040 tax summary. I called support, and they blamed my network, saying I needed to reboot and update my computer. It wasted over one hour of my time.
