There is not a query or anything that would show that but you can use the HomeBase to find that out if your in ProSeries Professional.

  1. Open 2017
  2. Go to the 1040 HomeBase View.
  3. Go to the HomeBase menu and choose Column Headings
  4. Under Available Columns look for Federal Return Filed - 1040:1040A;1040EZ
  5. Click ADD to move it to Selected Columns.
  6. Click OK and you'll now have the new column.
  7. If you go to the HomeBase menu again you can Export View
  8. The log shows you where it exports the file to on your computer.
  9. This will export it to Excel where you can use Excel Sort and Filter to get a list of 1040A filers.

That's brilliant! Is there a way to print out the names of those clients?

You can print the HomeBase (after you edit it) by going to HomeBase menu and choosing Print HomeBase but that will give you everything. If you export it to Excel you can use Excel to filter to just the 1040A ones and print that from Excel!

be careful printing Homebase...if you've got columns off to the side that aren't visible, the printer will print those on their own sheets of paper and you'll end up with tons of paper waste!   experience speaking here  LOL
