Due to teachers having a different type of retirement plan they do not qualify for social security. Therefore the spouse who has paid in is looking for a way to dispose of the teachers retirement and maybe pay into social security in order to have some sort of benefit from social security if or when needed.

I have a few teachers that get a small amount of SS, they had jobs before, after or in addition to just teaching.
