If the provider of a 1099 NEC provides their EIN in the format of an SSN, do you think it would that cause a problem in processing at IRS?
i.e. EIN: xxx-xx-xxxx vice xx-xxxxxxx
Thank you!

There is no need to input a 1099 NEC, so it doesn't matter. Just add up the income manually.
I realize the recipient doesn't include the specific 1099 NEC's and just add them up; I guess I meant will the issuer get credit for meeting their 1099 responsibility if their EIN was entered in SSN format?
Do the IRS computers know that it was an EIN crossed to the owner, even though formatted as an SSN?
