I live in Alaska.
99% of my clients and their children receive a State of Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend. In 2021 it was $1,114 per person. Historically, the 8814 Form is final when the tax season opens. This year it is final the end of March? What gives? Now Intuit is forcing me to file a separate tax return for each and every dependent child instead of putting it on Form 8814 of the parent's return. All of this to pay the $1 in tax.
Other than a little verbiage, the form hasn't changed in YEARS. What in the...?
Chalk it up with another reason I will be seriously looking to another software after this season.

Yep.
Based on their actions, the Developers apparently think that tax season begins in March this year.
