I read online not to activate/select the box for Schedule A and Form 8971 until after you complete Form 706 in full. Does anyone know if this is accurate for 2023? The post I read said it was "due to program limitations". Kind of an important thing to know as this in one of the first boxes to select when getting started on the return.
