efiling returns

I am proficient at preparing returns on Proseries, but I have not efiled before. I am nevious about efiling.  I only prepare a few returns for the company I work for.  I am not a paid preparer.  Where can I go for a step by step procedure?  I don't want to prepare a 2023 return and try to efile cold turkey.

Step 1: Get a PTIN and an EFIN if you don't have that already.

Youd need to obtain an EFIN in order to submit returns electronically.  It can be a lengthy process, depending on how far behind IRS is processing EFIN applications, the minimum is 45 days, but it can take multiple months, so if youre serious, you should get on it, ASAP
