Why can't the date of death for a 2019 return be after 1/28/21?
I'm filing a 2019 tax return for a couple where the wife died 6/27/21. When I put that date in Pro Series, it gives me an error saying that the date of death cannot be later than 1/28/21. Why is that?

Uninstalled the program, then reinstalled was the final resolution. I wonder if Tool Hub might fix it? https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/system-responses/help/fix-common-problems-and-errors-with-th...
so I tried it on a few different clients that I still had sitting in pending in the 2019 program, some of them it took the date of death with no problem, other ones it gave me different dates that they couldnt be after.....no clue why!!
Curiosity got the best of me, I had to try entering a DOD in one of my files. The "No Later Than" date is the same as the the EF Center- Pending Tab - Status Date column.

I can't figure out how that Status Date is determined. Only reason I noticed it was because I went to the Pending tab to pick a return to test the DOD entry.
Refresh Updates fixed the problem.
Thanks for that info! Much better than uninstalling and reinstalling
