I just wanted to give everybody a 'heads up' that it seems like there are a number of colleges issuing 1098-T-like statements with Box 2, even though Box 2 doesn't exist anymore.
I've seen quite a few people on the TurboTax forum asking about it, so it is likely that we will be encountering it too.
It will be interesting to see what those colleges do when they actually try to file the 1098-T with the IRS.

Hopefully, this is just a case of colleges being eager beavers, trying to get these out the door. Since they have had ample notice that was widely publicized and more than one full year to transition, hopefully, they wouldn't still be using the billing method for reporting.
