Last week, I completed the returns for two S-corporations and sent the Federal and State K-1's out to all the shareholders. One shareholder told me that he is using TurboTax for his personal return and when he tried to enter his K-1's he received from me, the software is telling him that the K-1's have not been approved for filing yet. I had no issues on my end and saw nothing indicating that they weren't ready for filing. He said that he has run the update feature on his TurboTax, but it still won't let him enter the K-1's. He's asking if it's my fault. I don't think so, but don't know what else to tell him. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks.
"TurboTax, but it still won't let him enter the K-1's"
Not a YOU problem, or any of your business to be frank. He needs to call TT support and see when TT will be ready for it.
I was talking about the K-1 recipient. According to TurboTax, that section is supposed to be able to accept K-1 information beginning February 1st. He (the shareholder) just needs to cool his jets for a few days.
My nickname for Jeff is "Inspector Clouseau".
I'd have to look up the opposite of 'clueless'.
@SSLewis - I was referring to your client's partner/shareholder as the clueless/entitled person.
I do a partnership, small, but 10 plus partners. I interact with them ONCE a year.
The wife of the managing partner called me once with a QB question for her husband's construction company (NOT connected to the partnership. She was appalled when I told her I couldn't help; that she would have to discuss the issue with Company's CPA/bookkeeper/etc. "But, but - you do the partnership returns, don't you? And you are a CPA, right?"
