After filling out Part IX, then generally you prepare the non-resident state first, so that credit for taxes paid to another state will show up on your resident state return...BUT Ive found with AZ vs CA, its backwards and the non resident state gives the credit...I'm not sure how many other backwards state there are out there.

Have you filled out part XI of the information worksheet? The software sometimes needs a little help in knowing where to report things.
