the electronic filing of the Form 7004 extension (code 17) for 1120-H association tax returns appears to not be supported. Is anyone else experiencing this and do you know what the work around is, if any? I called support yesterday and the customer service didn't have a clue and when they inquired with higher up they were told it doesn't support this. I find this very odd, because for at least the past seven years you could electronically file an 1120-H extension.
Please please show me a screen shots of your Information Wks and tax return so I can see how you are able to get it filed because my ProSeries Professional currently says,
"1120-H extensions are not supported for e-file"
Yeah, I can e-fie the EXT also. did you check the box on form 7004 to freeze, etc..?
We use ProSeries Professional and I have been unable to e-file the 7004 for an 1120H extension (code 17). I've checked the freeze box and it is still showing the error, saying it's not supported. Any other suggestions sure would be appreciated. We have also contacted customer service with the same response as above.
Was a solution ever found to this? I am having the same issue.
I have not received any response with a solution, and it is still not working.
Yes, we are having the same issue. The support person did not know what an 1120-H was or the difference between the return and an extension.
The only change I see per the IRS is that now the returns are allowed to be e-filed as well.
Is this for a Code 17 1120H? I've check the freeze box and the error reads that e-file of this type of extension is not supported.
Hi all, Thank you for the information. We're investigating this and will keep you updated.
Thanks! It's too late now, but hopefully you can figure it out for extension filings next year.
It's too late? Extensions are due April 15. "Generally, an association must file Form 1120-H by the 15th day of the 4th month after the end of its tax year."
Hey @IntuitGabi , there is a typo on the "Information Worksheet" on the 2nd line of Part VI. toward the end, it says 'or form 1120-H ln 6' should be "ln 8", which is also what the govt instructions say. Think it's been wrong for several years.
