Hello ProConnect Tax users and Company Admins,
We’re rolling out expanded user roles and permissions settings in ProConnect Tax.
As firms continue to grow and service more complex clients across Intuit products, more granular and customizable roles and permissions have become essential.
QuickBooks is currently rolling out new advanced roles and permissions in QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) to meet those needs. ProConnect* will align with these more granular user roles and permissions, as applicable to the tax workflow.
*Currently, if you add a user in ProConnect Tax they won't have access to QuickBooks Online. Manage user settings through QuickBooks Settings.
What’s changing?
Full Access users will now be called Company Admins, their access and permissions will be the same. All Basic Users permission will now be considered Standard No Access users. With default settings, the Standard No Access role can't e-file or add clients.
Company Admins can review how to give the Standard All Access role and how to add e-file and Client access to an existing role here: How to add users and manage permissions in ProConnect Tax
If you're looking to update permissions in QuickBooks Online, see: Add and manage custom roles in QuickBooks Online Advanced
