I was on Proconnect support for over 30 minutes. I am a new user of Proconnect but we have been with Proseries for over 4 years. I asked her about the suggestions that I was getting and she said she could not give tax advice-I know that and I let her know I was curious to why I was getting certain suggestions. She said ignore them!! I even gave her a reference number and she said thats just the number for the suggestion. I did not even get a survey from her.
For Louisiana state filers--any idea? When a Louisiana retirement income exemption for taxpayers over 65 is claimed, a "name of payer" entry is required. LA-Ref 1585. She told me to enter payer information (I uploaded the 1099R and that info was on the federal return) so I did. When she had me press refresh, it disappeared. Any ideas? Finally, she was obviously frustrated and told me to ignore it.
This was not a good feeling...
Generally you can ignore suggestions. It sounds like this one does not go away, even when you have fulfilled the suggestions.
Warnings are different. Generally try to make them go away.
