Don't forget your unused credits for TY2019. Only 2 days left!

If you still have unutilized credits for TY2019, you may like to create some new clients, each with a blank return (with Not Applicable for SSN or Applied For for EIN), and print those returns in order to use up your remaining credits. This way, you can reserve those blank returns for new clients who want their TY2019 returns prepared or amended next year without touching your TY2020 credits.

In case there are unfinished returns you are still working on, instead of creating new clients and returns, you can simply trigger a print of those returns to utilize the balance of your TY2019 credits.  This way, you don't let your expiring TY2019 credits go to waste and end up having to pay with your TY2020 credits when those returns get filed next year.

That is that you have someone who needs to do 2019 return? Can the 2019 credits, which can be used for prior years, be used for 2020 return?

That's for TY2019 and earlier years.

No, any unused TY2019 credit will expire after tomorrow.  Poof, it'd be gone forever.  That's the whole reason for this post.

I checked and it says you posted this Dec 30, 2021.  So are you sure you have any credits left?

2021 certainly was a better year than 2020 ---------- but it seemed like it just flew by.

There's a lot of memory loss attributed to that novel Covid-21 pandemic.

How was 2021 tax season? I have no recollection.

The more I know, the more I don't know.
