How do I print a client invoice in ProConnect?

I can't figure out how to print a client invoice this year in ProConnect! Why is this so hard? I can see the template, but there is no print option there for client copy.  If I print that page, it clearly says it a template instead of an actual invoice.  This is so frustrating.

That's because you are printing from the screen.

What you should do is to click on the Create PDF button in the bottom-right corner.  Make sure you allow popup from the site.  A new tab will open with the PDF you can save or download.

Note that this is purely a glorified wordprocesor.  Nothing get saved anywhere.  This means you can't retrieve a record of your "invoice" or do any compilation.

A better option would be to use QBOA by selecting Invoice via QuickBooks instead of Invoice.  Otherwise, you can always use your own accounting software or your favorite payment processor.

Exactly as you said, it didn't change much over the last few years.

When I create an invoice, the "Create PDF" button is staying grayed out and not letting me print to a PDF.

I just tried this on a return that I have not even paid for. I do have an account, but no credits. It worked. What Brower are you using?

Follow these steps to create invoices in ProConnect Tax

  1. Open the client's return.
  2. From the Return actions menu select Invoice.
  3. Make sure the client information is showing correctly.
  4. Enter the amounts for Federal and State Tax Return Preparation.
  5. You can add additional line items using Add Line.
  6. You can customize the text in the Notes.
  7. If you make changes, you can Save as My Template to use those changes on other clients.
  8. When your ready to create the invoice select Create PDF.
  9. Select Cancel to return to ProConnect Tax.
