I need to file an Federal extension for a deceased client. Do I need to paper file 4868 and include a check? or can I use the IRS.gov payment portal?. Proconnect is telling me I cannot e-file 4868.
Thanks

Remove date of death. Efile extension. Put date of death back in.

Phoebe,
Thank you for replying. I am assuming that it is not mandatory to paper file an extension for a deceased person but it is just a proconnect issue...I could not find it anywhere that paper filing is required.
