This year, on the Wisconsin Form 2 fiduciary income tax return, Lacerte gives us a critical diagnostic if we do not list a contact person with the pass-through entity representative. Per the Wisconsin Form 2 instructions: "If the pass-through entity representative is an individual, enter the individual’s full name in the “Representative’s Name” box and leave the “Contact’s Name” box blank." On the WI Form 2s that I prepare, the trustee, who is an individual, is the pass-through entity representative and therefore I should not enter a contact person per the Wisconsin Form 2 instructions. I have selected "Individual" as the pass-through entity representative type in the pass-through entity representative input. Lacerte needs to fix the Wisconsin Form 2 input so that if the pass-through entity representative is an individual, we do not get a critical diagnostic and do not need to enter a contact's name.
