RIC as country choice on partnership K2 input

BetsyT

I have a client partnership that receives foreign passive income on a form 1099.  The country code on the 1099 is RIC or Registered Investment Company that is allowed by the IRS.  I am not able to list RIC as a country on the Form K2 input in the partnership program in order to pass through the foreign dividends and withholding to the partners.  I have been told that I need to paper file the return for this purpose.  Adding the RIC designation would alleviate this issue.

I have the same issue. RIC and "Other" reported on the partnership's 1099. Not sure how to work around it.

Sometimes I am able to put an X in as the country code in Lacerte on the K-2 partnership module. I then put a note on the tax return that it the country code should be RIC.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I cannot get the software to accept an X, though.
