RI-1040 Schedule W form not posting correctly

ComputerizedFinancials

After at least 4 or 5 calls to Lacerte no representative had an answer as to why the SCorp RI Schedule K1 2023 was not populating as PTE tax paid on the RI resident RI-1040 Schedule W as RI-1099E with code E.   I and the multiply representatives could only get the program to populate as P from the RI- K1 form detail entry screen.

My client had a RI Sch K-1 for 2023 issued by a SCorp.  On the K-1 section II line 3 completed for $2,250, section III line 7 entry of $3,000; and section VI, RI-PTE Pass thru Entity Election information, completed with line 2 entered as $2,082.    As well a 2023 RI-1099E attached to the RI K1with box 9 as zero, box 10 $2,250, and box 11 for the $2,082 which was paid by the RI SCorp on the taxpayer/shareholder's behalf.

What am I and the multiply Lacerte reps missing?????  Or is this a program error!?!?!?!?!

I received an email from Lacerte Email support that stated this as a fix to the RI-1099E code not posting correctly which did work:

"Thank you for contacting Lacerte Email Support. Based on the calculations of the software, an amount entered in the input box "Credit for state estimates/withholding paid on or before 12/31/23" on screen 20.2 will create code P. In order to create code E, you will need to remove this amount and instead make the entry on screen 53.491, input box "Rhode Island income tax withheld (Ctrl+E). Once entered, Code E will display on the RI Sch W."

I say REALLY LACERTE.... why did I have to spend days on trying to get this resolved on my own and with several different Lacerte tech support folks!!   To me this wording on screen 53.491 should be RI withholdings or RI PTE payments.   I would not think of the RI-PTE tax paid by the SCorp to be considered withholding very POOR wording.   Next software release Lacerte should think of better wording on this detail input screen!!!  As well you would have thought at least one of the multiply tech support team members I spoke of would have known this fix!!!   The support members were even on my computer reviewing the input & the last team member took a copy of the return to play with it.   Sad when even a Lacerte trained software professional doesn't get the wording!!!  ARRRRGH!!
