One way NY combats this is by entering a State issued ID, such as a Driver's License. One of the most time consuming issues is that this information is not Proforma'd forward like other taxpayer information, such as names, address, SSN. This information has to be entered every year. Yet, NY will not hold up a tax return from being processed if the information is expired. Can the software developers program this information to be Proforma'd every year? It would be a big help and time value added.
