Unfortunately, I forgot my password and tried to obtain a password reset from the customer service. When I contacted customer service and explained that I had forgot my password and needed to reset it, the representative said I had to fill out information on the Intuit website and provide a copy of driver's license. The representative then said that it would take 24 hours to review the information. The representative also said that I would need to call back after the 24-hour period had passed and then they would let me know if information was okay and would give me a link to reset the password. In the meantime, I would be locked out of Lacerte.
While I can understand the need to verify the identity, I do not understand the 24-hour requirement. To be lock out of Lacerte for a 24-hour period can put a real strain on our business. This would be especially true between January 1 and April 15th of each year and anytime we are close to a 15th of the month deadline.
Please try to come up with a procedure that would require identity verification that can be done within minutes instead of the 24-hour period.
