NC requires EIN of Fiduciary, not necessarily Financial Institution EIN

DyverDn

Had a critical diagnostic when efiling NC Fiduciary return for "e-file: The Financial Institution EIN is required to efile returns (ref #55949)".  This diagnostic jumps to Client Information input screen 1, Financial Institution EIN.

Technical Support informed me that NC now requires the Fiduciary EIN must now be on the NC return.  To do this, it is in Screen 1 for Financial Institution EIN.

Most Fiduciary returns we prepare have individuals as the Fiduciary.  So when we put the SS# of the individual there, it now prints that on Page 1 of Form 1041 on the Sign Here area where it says "EIN of fiduciary if a financial institution".  So putting the SS# in that field is not accurate information for that field.  Not correct information is now on Form 1041.

I'd like to make an enhancement request for Lacerte to add a separate input field in the "State" Other Screen 60 for the SS# of the Fiduciary.  To put a SS# in the Federal Form 1041 Sign Here area is incorrect for an individual.  PLEASE FIX THIS!
