The Lacerte Tax Programs do not use a relational database system where data is only entered one time and then used wherever it is needed.
Due to these shortcomings, one has to input the same information in numerous and usually illogical places in the programs to complete a tax return correctly.
This is a significant issue across all platforms, worst in exempt package.
A basic issue that should have never been an issue is the "jump to Detail" from Forms.
This feature does not work in over 50% of the fields.
If this is because there are background calculations to determine an amount on the form, there should be a worksheet to support the amount calculation.
There are very few, if any of the these worksheets.
These are basic issues that Lacerte/Intuit refuses to address and their programs are getting worse and worse as the tax law gets for complicated.
The Intuit thought process appears to be that if the issue affects less than 10% of customers, it will not be adressed.
The problem with this approach is the percentage of impacted customers goes greater and greater.
And the overall quality and reliability of the programs is less and less.
I realize your programs are too messy and poorly constructed to addess these issues.
At some point, your customers will say enough and change to better programs regardless of the price point (and current cost of your programs is closing that gap).
