Lacerte Single Sign On (SSO)

steven

Frequently our Tax Professionals need to access multiple years of Lacerte, generally for the same client.  It makes no sense for a user, who is already signed in, to need to sign in multiple times on the same machine to access other versions of the program.

I would like to see Single Sign On applied to Lacerte Login access across all versions of Lacerte that require credentials (2016 and up I believe) and that the time out period should be based upon the last use of any open version.

Thank you for your feedback. This has been implemented for Lacerte 2024.

Can this be followed up with at Lacerte?

This is especially annoying when you have multi-factor authentication turned on as recommended.  For every version you open you have to not only enter your password, but then wait for and enter a code.

Under review---Thanks for your feedback on the enhancement to use single sign-on to access the current and prior year products. The team is looking to implement this and is planning out next steps. Thanks for your patience and participation in Idea Exchange.

The same would really apply to all of Inuit's products that fall under the same login information as Lacerte.  We have the same issue when logging into QuickBooks online, or QuickBooks time, or even this website to post this comment.  They are all unified under one login email address and password, yet you have to sign in to each of them separately and go through two step-identification separately for each one.  It is a waste of time everyday.

The more elegant solution would be to implement single sign on using a Microsoft 365 account. We have SO MUCH TROUBLE setting up new Lacerte users, and resetting forgotten passwords. I should not have to have my users send in a picture of their drivers license and await approval for a simple password reset that our IT department should be able to handle.

I agree.  There is so much security that at times it is faster to do work with other programs.

When is Multi-Year access going to be available?  Right now I sign into Lacerte 2024 and then I have to sign in to 2023 and 2022.
