Lacerte e-signature needs two upgrades to use it successfully.

Bob Saunders

First, it needs to be integrated into Lacerte better with an indicator box somewhere in the “client information” screen.  Without this, our support staff has no way of knowing how the client wants to receive the return.  We have resorted to sticky notes while we are otherwise paperless.  Also, the embedded client letter is wrong and makes no sense.  The letter needs to be based on how they are executing the return.  Overall, this is a step backwards for us.

With the indicator, we should be able to set up a column to display showing the client’s desire.  This same box should be proforma to the following year.  We should also be able to sort (F3) for clients with this box checked.

Next, there needs to be integrations with DMS and SmartVault.  For a paper return, we have our “complete return” settings to also send a copy to SV.  With e-signature we must manually remember to send a return there.  This is an extra step and added risk.  This is also a step backward for us.

Not only should e-signature send everything they send to the client to SV, it should also send the client reply with a copy of the e-signed authorization form to SV.

Both these issues seem like a primary need – we have more suggestions, like sorting clients by last name, but without this very basic improvement, we remain unsatisfied to suggest it’s use or consider additional products.

We would appreciate a response and a person who understands this to speak with.

Thank you
