Please create a critical diagnostic that the e-file will be rejected without the IRS IP PIN, for all clients that had this PIN in the previous year. Currently Lacerte allows the user to submit an e-file without the PIN, but then the e-file gets rejected.
The IRS sends Identity Protection PIN numbers to clients who have had issues with identity theft in the past. This PIN is entered in the Client information in Lacerte, and is required in order to e-file. Once a client receives this PIN, they need a new one every year.
