The Lacerte update policy has become oppressive. This past year I have been required to update our software multiple times each week. today I attempted to perform a simple research project for a client that ultimately required opening three years of Lacerte software. each had to be updated. what should have been a 30 minute project took all morning updating, rebooting, closing files, etc. I understand you have a cloud option but some of us do not wish to migrate our client information to the cloud. I believe you need to form a steering committee with some members that are tax professionals, not programmers. This committee would be charged with determining what changes require an immediate update, and what changes could be relegated to a recurring automatic update that could be performed in the middle of the night without user involvement.
Thanks for the idea to limit and schedule updates in the middle of the night. We are changing the status to "Open for voting" since it is no longer considered "New".
