3800 Carryover from 2023 listed as non-passive when passive

Continuouslearner

In screen 34, developers mentioned that the Carryovers/Misc Section are only for non-passive carryovers but there is nothing to indicate that in Lacerte. Can there be an update to indicate that section is only for non-passive carryovers? There is no identification of the section as non-passive nor any instructions with an F1 help for the input to indicate it is for non-passive credits. Passive Carryovers are only allowed in the specific section of the K-1 on screen 34 not the Carryovers/Misc. section.  If you enter the carryovers in the wrong section, it could falsely generate the 3800 allowing it as non-passive credit to offset taxable income.

In addition, if there is no passive activity income to apply to the passive credit, the 3800 form incorrectly excludes the entire amount as a carryover on the Part IV Line 4 (the credit we had was for the 8846), which I think should still be reported as a passive carryover in column d but column e-i should all be -0- when they don't apply. It should be still shown as a carryover to 2024 just as it does on the 8582-CR, so this needs to be corrected.
