Why are you mailing the 7004 when it can be filed electronically? The security of having an IRS acceptance on file is a definite benefit.  I filed one yesterday and had a response in less than an hour.

Sometimes you can't efile - it got rejected b/c its a new entity, it just became an S Corp and IRS data base doesn't know yet, etc.

The more I know, the more I don't know.

I have seen them rejected because it was a short year but the one I just submitted was for a short year 1065. Capricious?
