We would like to allow preparers to work from home using VPN connection to our office server. Has anyone successfully done this?

Yes our computer guy set up a VPN for us a few years ago and we could then use that to get on the internet network. Then you'd use Remote Desktop from a remote computer to view your in-office desktop. It generally worked well. Now we use Teamviewer to remote into an in-office computer. My understanding is that you can't VPN from a laptop at home and use the network that way due to file corruption issues especially in lacerte. I would witness this at a former employer where Excel/Word files were so often corrupt when using VPN.
