S1 Calculations on latest version of Profile (2024.1)

Hi, we seem to be having some issues with Profile - the S1 the math in this cell doesn’t make sense:

There are now 3 T2’s with the same issue.  I overrode the calculation so we can file but its odd.  Its also not consistent how the cell calculates the deduction, suppose to be 50% but the three that we had were 99%, 74% and 57%.

Anyhow seen anything simillar.

I think you may have wandered into the wrong site. I might be me, but I think it is you. Absolutely nothing about  your question makes any sense in the context of this Lacerte income tax preparation software forum.  If this really is a Lacerte issue, try rephrasing it.

Good Luck.

That's weird, I commented yesterday and flagged this for a moderator. This is a Canadian T2 issue, so yes, totally lost on the internet.

I think the article is being cross-posted to different communities, and that may be confusing.

The breadcrumbs, if I follow the links in my email, are:

Intuit Accountants Community > Lacerte Tax > Lacerte Tax Discussions > Re: S1 Calculations on latest version of Profile (2024.1)

But if I go with my actual post, it's:

ProFile Community > Q&A > Other Questions >  Re: S1 Calculations on latest version of Profile (2024.1)

Look in your Browser for the URL path, not the Forum subsection.

"Profile" here is how you, as a logged in user, have access to postings from your username (your Profile as we know you). That's not part of any software; it's social networking in a usergroup environment.

Intuit's community here is a .com ending, for Lacerte, ProSeries and ProConnect US tax prep products, EasyACCT and other Intuit products. "accountants.intuit.com" as a url for the internet access, a peer user communication forum. This is not customer service. This is not a chat interface. It's very old school, a threaded bulletin board type interaction with peer users.

"The breadcrumbs, if I follow the links in my email, are:"

That's because your Profile here has preferences and options. You are getting email updates that your topic has a new reply posted. All of my notifications are turned off, I don't want to be notified by email, for instance. When I come to the forum via Firefox, I see a New Notification counter by the little bell symbol. This is all forum functionality and has nothing to do with your software.

However, Intuit's US tax prep products used to bring users here as part of the Help search results, and then people didn't know they are "on the web."

It can be very confusing.

Let's try this callout:

@IntuitGabi

Can you help point this Canadian Intuit customer to the right support platform, please?

@npaixao Thank you for clarifying. It appears ProFile is sorta kinda like Lacerte, but for preparing Canadian tax returns. I don't think posting on Lacerte is going to get any help, since we don't talk Kanook ;-}. My father was born in Alberta in 1906, but that isn't help me to see what you are asking.

Like this community, you will only get answers from other users. You could call support, but my reallly realllly best guess as to the answer is WAIT. The 2024 software is just in a testing state right now. It won't be totally functional until just before you can actually start filing tax returns.

Best of luck and I hope you get a solution in the ProFile Community.

I did all the right things... I posted into the Canadian "Intuit ProFile" community...

For some reason, you,  a US "Lacerte Tax" customer, are seeing this conversation that has nothing to do with you...

The two communities are somehow "merged"???

Perhaps even more interesting - this conversation we are all having - is not showing up on the Canadian side of the forum...

I love the Internet!  🙂
