I do not wish to e file. The box to e file is not checked but I don't get form 8948.
Thanks
Hello;
No I have always filed paper returns my self for LLC's my wife and I own.
I started using Lacerte many years ago when I had dozens of LLC's. Now days I am retired and only have 6 or so. Each of these only has one rental property in each so its a pretty simple return.
Do you have any idea why I am not getting the option to generate the form to paper file even though I do not have the boxes checked to efile?
Am I allowed to contact you by email?
Are you a Specified Tax Return Preparer?
"Specified Tax Return Preparer
A specified tax return preparer is a tax return preparer, as identified in
section 7701(a)(36) and Regulations section 301.7701-15, who is a preparer
of covered returns and who reasonably expects (if the preparer is a member
of a firm, the firm’s members in the aggregate reasonably expect) to file 11 or
more covered returns during a calendar year."
If not, then you don't got to file no stinkin' 8948!! I believe you are preparing SELF PREPARED or NON-PAID PREPARER returns and should show that on the return in the preparer section.
Honestly, why not e-file? I think it is much less work and far more efficient.

Yes, can't you tell that from all the questions posted here about problems with e-filing?
Of course, maybe you are concerned with sending your data through a company that is being sued in a class action, for a data breach took place from Dec. 23, 2023 through Feb. 21, 2024 (the hack was not discovered until Feb. 27).
I am too lazy to look it up so I'll ask anyone: Was Lacerte implicated or directly named in that lawsuit?
Is this a 1040/INDividual return? Even with the file boxes at top of page1/Client Info UN-checked, I believe you still have the spell things out on page4.1/EFile Miscellaneous. Checkbook for 'chose not to, or spell out the technical reason why not possible.
