Federal AGI is not populating to MO Return when individual is single & Federal AGI is a negative number

I have a single farmer who has a nol for 2024.  His negative AGI from the Federal Return is not populating to the Missouri return.  I've tried entering in override screen but it doesn't go anywhere.  Is there another work around.  I can't be the only person having this issue.  I called Lacerte 10 days ago, after waiting 1.5 hours for them to agree that there was a problem,  the issue still isn't fixed.  MY taxpayer wants return filed.  Should I just go ahead & file the return incorrectly.  No tax is due.

@SL2134  Were you provided with a case number? I will be happy to help find a solution to this. Thanks!

I don't believe I was provided a number.  But I need this issue fixed!  Person I talked to on the phone was thrilled when they had me change filing status to MFJ and then Fed AGI transferred to MO return, but that's not helping me.

Problem is still not resolved even after today's update.  If the programmers would just allow us to use the override field, then this problem would be a temporary solution.  WHY is there an override field if you can't use it?  Its been 2.5 weeks since I brought this to Lacerte's attention.

Hi @Cstoll Welcome to the community. Thank you for stopping by and seeing about an update.

We have checked on this and see that this was reported to development. After their review, this has been determined to be working by design. According to the instructions for Form MO-1040, page 6, "If the amount you would otherwise report as your federal adjusted gross income would be a negative number, enter $0 on Line 1. Attach a copy of Federal Form 1040 or Federal Form 1040-SR."

Hope this helps and Happy posting!

Well, my version does not seem to be working as designed.  I have the latest update as well.

Looking at a return right now that keeps the negative number for the Spouse when it should be zero, according to the instructions (and a notice I just received for a client).

What is the best (quickest) way for tech to help me with my situation?

Thanks,
