How do we get the due date on the client letter for partnerships on extension to reflect September 15th ? The letter is still reflecting March 15th
In the extension screen (Screen 6), make sure the box for "print extension" ahs a "1" in it, AND the the box for e-file extension is checked. I think they both have to be entered (even if you didn't efile the extension).
We have a "1" in the print extension box and the e-file extension "checked" and the due date is March 15th on the letter. I am wondering if we have something marked that is not allowing the program to change the date?
So frustrating
Unfortunately it is "all" partnerships.
I just entered a 1 at the top of Screen 6, went to forms and VOILA! the letters says September 15.
My only other thought would be Screen 2 > Client Letter > Federal due date of return [O] as an override.
We must have some other setting that is overriding everyone's suggestions. The 1 on top of page 6 doesn't work for us. I thought I tried the override but will check that again.
Thank you for all the suggestions.
I don't know the answer to that but I will check
Susan - s/he said it was ALL clients tho - is there a global setting to overwrite/customize the letter globally?
I have 'very' occasionally customized a letter - I scares me <w>
"is there a global setting to overwrite/customize the letter globally?"
Not that I know of.
But once I had an employee change the default letter. Everything came out "Dear Mrs. Johnson". Figured it was a possibility here .
Yes I only customize the letter when Lacerte f's it up.
