When will the Lacerte forms for CA be final? We are holding our return and getting behind. Clients are asking for K-1's. I contacted Spidell who contacted the FTB. The FTB said this was a Lacerte issue. Is Turbo Tax up and running?? Why is there a delay? Nothing has changed.
Does anyone know what Lacerte is doing for their "high valued" customers and why CA is still not able to be printed or finalized?
We contacted Lacerte about this issue when electronic filing opened and we were told by the end of the month, which has passed. i spoke to another agent on Sunday and was told there was an update on the 3rd of February which never came, the last update on Friday the 30th of January seems buggy and we're having issues with our software. I know another preparer who uses Ultra Tax and they informed me that they have been able to print and file their CA 540's as of the 26th. awful service from lacerte this year.
Yes this is becoming a problem. We are getting stacked up with early returns. Clients can not review their CA returns before filing, not a good situation. Turbo Tax has the forms available for efile and print for their clients but not Lacerte. Not good... Attached is a pic of the Turbo Tax Status for CA forms.. I know they have been available since at least yesterday when I checked. Calls to support have not yielded any answers for myself.
completely ridiculous that we are experiencing this, it is putting us at a competitive disadvantage with turbo tax, which is also an intuit product, i have never thought about switching to another software but i'll be doing a demo with ultra tax this year and see about switching software. sorry to all fellow lacerte users, we pay far too much for this product to receive this sort of customer care and support.
It's kinda bizarre that Turddotaxx and ProSeries has them ready but Lacerte doesn't. Maybe the CA programmers got moved over to doing phone support because support has been swamped with calls about the CA forms not being ready. 😲
Based on data for the 2024–2025 period, Intuit is an active sponsor of foreign worker visas, primarily focusing on H-1B temporary visas and PERM labor certifications (a precursor to Green Cards/permanent residency).
H-1B Visas (Temporary): Between August 1, 2023, and July 31, 2024, Intuit filed 716 H-1B petitions, of which 715 were approved. Some reports also indicate a total of 770 certified H-1B filings for the 2024 fiscal year.
From a January 13, 2025 article:
Intuit CFO Sandeep Aujla threw his support behind the H-1B visa program and pushed back against a protectionist view of the skilled labor market in a recent wide-ranging interview with CFO Dive.
“What the H-1B visa allows us to do is continue to invest in the resources in the U.S., as we do, but also have access to global talent,” Aujla said on Jan. 7. “It’s to make sure that we don’t become isolationist as a country when it comes to access to global talent,” he added, noting that he hopes President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration will continue to lean into the program.
