DISPLAY SETTINGS CONSTANTLY CHANGE

kwinike

It seems as though every time there's an update to Lacerte my display settings change to something extremely random. It's time consuming to have to go into each entity and change it back to what I want it to be, and I don't have extra time to do this every single time.

Anybody know how to lock this, so it doesn't keep happening? Or maybe Lacerte could get on top of this and fix it ASAP?!?

My patience is running very thin with this and I'm hoping there's an easy fix before we get super busy.

Does anyone at Intuit know when this will be fixed?  Our firm can't be the only one dealing with this every time there is an update.

This is an absolutely unacceptable response, my firm is losing hours over needing to our display settings every single day at random times.
The longer Lacerte leaves this issue unresolved the easier it is for me to make a decision to move the the competitor and much cheaper option.

Intuit & Lacerte team, you need to get this fixed ASAP, this is unacceptable for an enterprise level software and frankly embarrassing.

Yep, just happened to me this morning.  We have very specific columns showing for very specific reasons as I'm sure everyone else does.

Lacerte... stop with the auto-changes that you think are helping.  If someone can't distinguish last year's program from this year's program that's on them.  That one person may lose 30 minutes imputting into the wrong year.... all the rest of us lose 30 minutes resetting our columns.  This isn't insignificant.

This is happening to us as well, though it seems anyone doing e-file or K1s are having this issue. The users themselves reported that it breaks after each Lacerte 25 update, same as OP.

The e-file and K1 windows show up in the taskbar, but any options to move or maximize are greyed out. The only option I have to is to rename w25tax.ini for affected users, or paste in working window position settings from an old ini file. As you can imagine this is incredibly tedious for me, and frustrating for the end users.

As these are terminal servers, I've already confirmed that each user's MachineName is different in LacerteHostName.ini. but just for testing anyway, I changed MachineName to random ones, Issue still returns after Lacerte updates.

@Vince EA @CPAtech524  We understand how disruptive it can be when something does not work as expected. Since this community is designed for peer-to-peer resource sharing, our technical team doesn't monitor these threads for troubleshooting. We do need you to reach out to our support team directly, even if you’ve already shared the details here. Our support specialists need a formal ticket, a clear summary of the topic and a client case file to investigate the behavior you're seeing. They have the tools to determine if it’s a quick fix, a change in instructions, a new unexpected behavior or one we’re already reviewing.

Reporting it through the proper channel ensures your specific case gets documented and addressed by the people who can fix it.

Help us help you by heading over to Lacerte Support so we can take a closer look!
