The Lacerte Estimated Payment Wizard: The Lacerte Estimated Payment Wizard is dependent on the IRS e-file open dates.  Estimate payments may not be transmitted during shut-down periods.  To view supported payment options for both Individual and Business returns, see Using the E-file Estimated Payment Wizard

@Ashley at Intuit (aka Henry Jr) Do you have any input? I doubt it really is just a Lacerte thing.

@IntuitAlicia Are you saying that even though CA is NOT CLOSED, the CA ES will not be transmitted?

Apparently. Ditto for business efile. Even though IRS opened it Jan 8, Lacerte won't open it until Jan 22. This sucks.

Correction-business efile for 2017 and 2016 returns is now open in Lacerte.

@George4Tacks Yes, Individual estimate payments may not be transmitted during the shut-down period. You'll receive a transmission failure message when attempting to transmit.
