Clergy housing allowance, typically added on Screen 45, is not adjustable when the clients tax return is added to the Tax Advisor planning module. This income is subject to SECA taxation but not Income Tax. Since this value varies from year to year I would need a way to adjust it as a variable in overall planning.
Also, I noticed that when the minister's W2 data is fed over to Tax Advisor FICA values are populated even though they were blank on the original tax return (i.e. W2, boxes 3 - 6).
We appreciate your feedback, and appreciate you using Intuit Tax Advisor. This limitation exists because ITA does not expose every field available in the tax program, which is by design to keep planning at the estimate level, not the precision of tax preparation. That said, we understand this issue is important to you. Until this field is exposed, we suggest trying to estimate using the prior year value, or adjust in the current year tax plan from the prior value.
