Can we get an ETA on when Lacerte will "develop" the new IRS Schedule A for Form 8825. Seems like it's been available on the IRS website for awhile now.

Yes, we definitely have a few rental partnerships that have over $10 M in assets. We can do the abbreviated M-3 (more than $10M but less than $50M), but Lacerte seems to be indicating with a critical e file diagnostic warning that we need to fill out the new Schedule A for Form 8825.

I just got the new lacerte update a few minutes ago. Nada for Schedule A for Form 8825. Not even a placeholder for it. I wonder if there's some sort of workaround for this. I can't wait till September for Lacerte to get this done. Any ideas?

Got the latest update from Lacerte yesterday afternoon. Same story, nothing on the Schedule A for Form 8825. Can we get any kind of response from Intuit on this issue? Form is marked as being issued in December of 2025 by the IRS. Why is this soooo difficult to develop this form? Looks pretty basic--it's a one page list of expenses. Wow, that's super hard to produce, right?

Same issue here and I was told the other tax software issued this schedule a while ago. Becomes a struggle - thinking about moving on next year.
Please let us know if any news.
Thank you.

I called Lacerte tech support yesterday to get some sort of idea when this would be available. She said "today, 2/18/26, there will be an update".
I didn't receive the update yesterday so I called back early this morning. The first rep said I had an out of date version and that I needed to "force reinstall the program". I didn't think she knew what she was talking about so I hung up and I called back another rep. She confirmed that my version was indeed the most recent, but she said that the next update wouldn't be till 3/4/26. She had no idea whether the Schedule A would, or would not, be included in that March 4th update.
Then, suddenly, about an hour later I got an online update from Lacerte and the Schedule A to Form 8825 is now working and part of the program.
Serious lack of communication and coordination within Lacerte. Very chaotic and sad compared to the way the Company once was.

Does anyone have issues with the amount of Other Taxes Sch. A for Form 8225 is pulling on the respective line?
I broke down the taxes between RE taxes and Other Taxes but the amount showing on Sch. A is not the same as the input - looks like a fraction of it. Has anybody else experienced this?

It looks like 8825 sch A has a lot of problems. Amounts I entered in Pest Control on rent detail are coming through as Other Taxes on line 14. Line 30 Other has a big number with no detail and the total on line 31 is correct, however, if I add up the items on lines 1-30 it doesn't foot to the total on line 31.
We can't finalize returns like this to send to clients or the IRS!
Lacerte get your act together!

Yes, pest control input is going to "taxes" on the Schedule A. Then, "taxes" on the input screen (other than real estate taxes), is not showing up at all on the Schedule A (even though there's a specific line item for that) , and that's why Schedule A doesn't foot.
I called Lacerte 3 times on this issue this morning. First guy had a muffled connection, I had to hang up. Second guy didn't think that Schedule A was out yet. He asked me what does "foot" mean. I hung up on him. Third guy started a screen share and then his connection dropped. He never bothered to call me back.
After that, I sent in the return as a "calculation challenge". I might suggest that everyone does that and let's see if we can get them to fix this fast(er).
However, between Lacerte's development team and their technical support squadron, I seriously think we need to look at Ultra Tax next year.

abctax55 does the entity have over $10M in assets? For my partnerships under the threshold, all is fine, however, if over $10M of assets, then no detailed statement for line 17 and the errors on sch A

Here's an update to my submission to Lacerte as "Calculation Challenge". My case was "closed" by a Lacerte employee without an actual response from Lacerte because I "failed to attach the IRS instructions supporting my position" that the Schedule needs to mathematically correct.
Yes, really.
Where does it say in the IRS instructions to this Schedule that the form needs to be in-accurate and NOT mathematically correct? I'm hoping that after the season, Intuit loses about 25% of it's customer list, perhaps they will become more responsive to their customer's comments.
Ultra tax, CCH or Drake for next year. Any suggestions?

Hi Kathi and thank you for your help - we really appreciate. However, since it appears you are moderating this group, I am hoping you are conveying to the respective levels our dissatisfaction with the quality of services - we practically pay a high price for a software we cannot use because at the end of the day we cannot file a return where the numbers do not foot on the forms.
Please let the support service also know that the Other Taxes line on Sch. A to form 8825 is populated by the amount of Pest Control and NOT Other Taxes as on the input.
Thanks again and best regards.

I know many people in the community using Pro Fx for partnerships and they are happy - by the way, schedule A was ready a while ago for them.

Hi @bwcpa Thanks for posting in the Community about the calculation challenge that was submitted. We know it is frustrating when the challenge is closed and nothing is looked at. We have a Support article that has everything that needs to be submitted for a calculation challenge to be considered.
How to challenge a calculation in Lacerte
There is a Before you start section and if the items in this section are not included Support will close the calculation challenge due to being incomplete. We just wanted to make sure that you knew so in the future this will not happen again.

Kathi
When I submitted the challenge, I submitted all of the pertinent information except for the IRS instructions, because it's assumed for all IRS forms that they must foot properly. The only thing that I could have done is attach the IRS instructions and point out that the instructions don't indicate that you shouldn't foot the schedule properly. But, that would pretty much be a standing order for any IRS form. They are all required to be mathematically correct. The person who worked on my calcuation challenge needs to be fired.
