Read the Article

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act brought a lot of changes, especially for tax year 2018. While you’ve been focusing on helping your clients navigate those changes, we’ve been hard at work making key improvements to make our tax preparer software, Intuit® ProConnect™ Lacerte®, better than ever. From behind-the-scenes upgrades that accelerate overall performance, to big steps in e-file coverage, continued strong support for tax reform and brand-new features such as hosting, you can count on Lacerte to help make this your best tax year yet.

In addition to 134 new forms and 43 new e-file capabilities, check out some of the new features and productivity enhancement we’ve added to Lacerte. Here’s an overview of some of the top enhancements you can expect in our tax business software:

Sections and Topics tabs to easily navigate complex forms: You can now find the right input quickly and accurately using the Section and Topics tabs. Because content categories are sorted into relevant, clickable groups, you can avoid the hassle of scrolling through long forms and reduce the risk of missing an input.

Multiple filing instances supported in a single client e-file: Avoid the hassle of filing multiple e-file returns for the same client; increase productivity with the ability to add multiple instances of filing, including franchises and LLCs, within the same client e-file.

Simultaneous e-file for multiple users: Multiple tax preparers in your office can now e-file at the same time, without disrupting or slowing down the process. Maximize efficiency with a seamless multi-user experience.

New eSignature experience: The best way to sign and collect eSignature just got better with four new eSignature enhancements, including an improved dashboard to track status in real time, the ability to get a signature for any form or document, optional authentication for forms other than 8878 and 8879, and the functionality to collect remote or in-person signatures with a tablet or device in office.

  1. I can’t do the webinar tomorrow re the 2019 Lacerte update. Can I do it another time?
Also, how do I password protect client files when converting them to pdf format?

I use windows, not DNS. Can I both password protect files and mask social security numbers by checking both boxes on the illustration? Also, does a pop-up box come up when I check the password protect box asking for the password? How is this stored / how do I remember said password?

    Thanks,
