Picciurro, CPA/PFS, MBA, ARA, is executive officer and co-founder of Integrated Financial Group, a financial firm with headquarters in Michigan. He is a member of the Intuit® ProConnect™ Tax Customer Council and wrote “8 Ways to Determine if Your Tax Client is Ready for Advisory Services” for the Intuit Tax Pro Center. ProConnect: Tell us about your practice. Christopher Picciurro: We focus on partnering with clients to implement positive financial decisions. Our ideal clients are entrepreneurs with up to 100 employees, real estate industry professionals and investors, and highly taxed households. We almost exclusively use a subscription-based model that focuses on client relationship development. ProConnect: Why is the ProConnect Tax Customer Council important to the profession? CP: It connects a diverse group of successful practitioners with the profession’s technology leader. ProConnect: What’s your favorite part of being on the Council? CP: Developing professional and personal friendships. ProConnect: What kind of Intuit software do you use? CP: We use Intuit ProConnect Tax Online and QuickBooks® Online Accountant, and plan to move our final QuickBooks Desktop clients to QuickBooks Online during the second half of 2019. ProConnect: What are your goals for your practice this year? CP: We want to continue providing a positive work environment and work-life balance for our team. We are also working toward increasing our per client revenue by 33 percent. ProConnect: What was your very first job? CP: I was a Detroit News paperboy back in the day when newspapers were delivered by hand via bike. ProConnect: Who is your favorite author? CP: Robert Kiyosaki, author of “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” because he has completely transformed the way millions of people think about finances. ProConnect: If you were stranded on a desert island with access to just one kind of technology, what would it be and why would you want it? CP: A telephone with location services so I can be found! ProConnect:How can tax professionals keep up with all the changes in tax laws and regulations? CP: As a tax professional, I think it is almost impossible to keep up with every tax law change and regulation, so I focus on reading every publication or magazine possible, along with subscribing to various continuing education providers and social media accounts. This enables me to enroll in CPE courses that help me serve our clients. I also feel it is important to be involved with CPA peer groups. ProConnect: Thanks, Christopher.
