Troubleshooting the ProSeries error - Invalid Form Path Entry
by Intuit• Updated 7 months ago
When attempting to open ProSeries, the program fails and generates the following error:
"Invalid Form Path Entry - Please reinstall ProSeries. Unable to locate your installed products."
This error can be caused by changing a drive mapping, or copying the ProWinYY folder from one computer to another.
Before you start:
- This article references default installation paths and uses YY to reference the tax year in 20YY format. C: will always indicate the local drive and X: will always indicate the network drive.
How do I resolve this error?
Follow these steps for a network installation:
- Make sure no workstations have ProSeries open.
- In Windows Explorer, open the C:\ProWinYY\Forms folder.
- Delete the files cache.fdfi and RNCACHE.
- Click the ProSeries icon/shortcut once to highlight it.
- Hold down Ctrl + Enter on your keyboard.
- Continue holding Ctrl until the message "One moment please." appears.
If you still can't open ProSeries:
- Uninstall the workstation:
- Go to the Windows Start menu.
- Select (All) Programs.
- Choose ProSeries 20YY.
- Select Uninstall.
- In File Explorer, open the C:\ProWinYY folder and delete the 32bit folder.
- Reinstall the workstation from the network WKSTN folder.
- For example, F:\ProNetYY\WKSTN.
Follow these steps for a standalone installation:
- Go to the Windows Start menu.
- Select Programs.
- Choose ProSeries 20YY.
- Select Uninstall.
- In File Explorer, open the C:\ProWinYY folder.
- Rename the 32bit folder to 32bitOLD.
- Reinstall ProSeries.
