Common issues installing ProSeries on a network

If you used mapped drives in prior years, you should continue to use the same mapped drive with the new version of ProSeries. For assistance with mapping network drives, review information on the Microsoft support site.

When installing to a network workstation, the setup.exe file is missing from X:\ProNetYY\Wkstn

You have a new computer that will be a new workstation. However, when you try to install ProSeries Professional, the setup.exe file is missing. To resolve this, follow these steps:

Part 1 - On the admin workstation, uninstall one of the federal form sets (1040, 1065, 1120s, etc.):

  1. Click the Windows Start menu and select All Programs.
  2. Select ProSeries YYYY and click Uninstall.
  3. Select one Federal form set and click Uninstall.

Part 2 -Reinstall the form set:

  1. Sign in to My Account.
  2. Download and install the year of the program that's having the issue.
    • For example, ProSeries 2023.
  3. Install the program to the same location that ProSeries is currently installed.
    • This will trigger a check of the network folders and replace the missing setup.exe file. You can now run your workstation setup.
